Just as Mark Twain said, “The Reports of My Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated.“ So it is with the Fort Wolters Chapter of the VHPA. What has changed is the underlying legal foundations of the chapter. It will no longer be a corporation, with legal responsibilities and benefits, but a club. This does not change our relationship with the National VHPA organization. The chapter is now free to start life anew, without legal responsibilities, such as full complement of officers. The club’s first organizational meeting is January 4th at 1130 hours, at Logan’s. Your participation will set the agenda and future of the club.
The Fort Wolters Chapter is an independent entity and is not authorized to act as an agent or representative of the VHPA. Membership to either organization is open to any pilot who flew helicopters during the Vietnam War. Join Us!
The chapter Membership enjoys a special camaraderie of a kind known only to fling-wing aviators as we meet quarterly for food, drink and fellowship and at other times to work on special projects such as the 1998 National Reunion and the National Vietnam War Museum. Impromptu gatherings also occur whenever we can think of the slightest reason to get together (It doesn't take much, a good thirst, for example).
